Many of us have experienced gut wrenching hurts and disappointments in our relationships, but you cannot let those experiences define you.  At the age of 43, I found myself broken both mentally, physically and emotionally after ending an engagement and leaving an abusive relationship.  I was at my lowest point and even contemplated could I go on, do I even want to go on….the words are hard to say….but to be blunt…did I want to continue living. With the help of family and friends, who lifted me up with their constant love and support, I was able to regain my strength and rebuild my life.  Fast forward to today, nine years later, and I’m living my best life and engaged to be married to a man, I truly believe, was sent from God.  It took a lot of hard work and a few more hurts to get here, but I made it through the fire and came out stronger!   If this resonates with you, I challenge you to look within and incorporate these 5 practices into your life to attract more love and abundance into your life.

1.       Let Go of the Past

Your past is your past.  Leave it there and don’t let it define you. Release any resentment you may be holding onto and move on. Whatever it is you’re holding onto, try writing it all down in a letter, reading it out loud and then burning the letter.  As the letter is burning say, “I am letting go and releasing the negativity of the past and making room for light, love and abundance in my live.”  A good and safe way to do this to burn it over an open toilet seat and then flush the ashes. What you don’t want to do is start a fire….lol.

2.       Tear Down the Walls and Forgive

Forgiving is a big part of letting go. If you don’t forgive, you will always have that connection and emotional bond to that person.  A great way to forgive is to thank that person for the lessons they’ve taught you and move on. I don’t mean you have to thank them in person, but rather thank them from within your soul.  When you do this, you can finally be free of the emotional walls you’ve built up to protect your heart. Forgiveness will tear down these walls allowing more love and abundance into your life.

3.       Be Kind to Others

We’re all out here going through life’s ups and downs and you never know what someone might be going through.  Simple acts of kindness and compassion towards others can be a catalyst to opening their hearts to receiving more love, but it also leads to inner peace and happiness within yourself.

4.       Love Yourself Like No Other

You have to love yourself first and foremost. Be kind to yourself.  Close your eyes, wrap your arms around yourself, squeeze hard and say "I love you."  Feel the love flowing and vibrating throughout your body and breathe it all in.  By loving on yourself, you increase your vibration to attract more loving people into your life.

5.       Show Gratitude

Simply saying the words “thank you” increases your vibration to attract goodness into your life. Every morning take a few moments to jot down what you’re grateful for in a gratitude journal.  This gratitude practice will not only make you feel happier and attract more love and abundance to your life, but it will also boost your immune system!
